About Us

Who's behind Bionic Books?

We're a small UK company called Monks Vaughan. We've been around since June 2005. Initially we were involved in software and accountancy consulting, but we soon decided that we'd rather be doing something more constructive, something we loved, something that we found some meaning in, and that's why we made Bionic Books.

Bionic Books represents our best effort to make superb small business accounting software, a good value product that solves a real world problem, and makes peoples lives a bit better.

Monks Vaughan is named after our directors who are:

Jon Vaughan

Jon is our software expert. Jon has worked on a lot of big web applications, including being Lead Software Engineer at http://www.guardian.co.uk, which was a lot of fun but he thought he needed to do something for himself. Jon is a keen cyclist, hopeless guitarist, beer enthusiast and at age 7 was found programming his ZX Spectrum - naked.

Trish Monks

Trish is our accountancy expert. Trish is a Chartered Accountant and member of the ICAEW. Trish trained at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and has experience ranging from corporate finance to aerospace. Trish is an extremely talented runner and VW camper van enthusiast.
