If you buy boxed accounting software there are two gotchas. Firstly the annual fee to keep the software up to date, and secondly you have to do your own IT support; you have to work out how to do backups and you have to sort things out if something breaks down. With Bionic Books updates are completely automatic; changes like the UK temporary VAT sales tax changes happened without any of our users having to do anything. We take care of backups (which are extensive) and to avoid breakdowns, the software is hosted on an extremely reliable platform, with many levels of redundancy.
